Corsin Tuor wrote this march in 1998 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Cerchel musical dalla Surselva" (CMS). This brass ensemble has been an integral part of the musical life of the canton of Graubünden since its inception. Five years later, the march was arranged for brass band. In the trio section, the composer used a well-known Romansh song called "O cara Surselva." The melody is by Eduard Lombriser, and the lyrics are by Alfons Tuor. The song describes the longing for the Surselva, this beautiful valley in Graubünden.
