March: Collaroy 1976

Salvation Army March. Composed in connection with the Collaroy Music Camp, Sydney, N.S.W.

Comments by Major Ray Steadman-Allen
Collaroy, on the outskirts of Sydney, N.S.W., is a large seaside estate which was bequeathed to The Salvation Army. It contains an eventide home and other institutions; additionally there is a camp for various youth activities including music camps. The composer of this march is associated with the music camp as have been other noted musicians, among them the late Band Inspector Harold Scotney. The march is in an attractive rhythmic style and is a programme march rather than one for processional purposes.

Composer: Barrie Gott
